My name is Shelby Sorensen and I am 21 years old. I’m currently standing as a Senior in the College of Business at University of Nevada, Reno with an emphasis in Information Systems. I am on track to graduate in the Spring of 2013.
I am involved in the professional business fraternity Delta Sigma Pi, Peer Mentors for the College of Business, and Students in Free Enterprise. I hold a happy to hold a position in all of the organizations. This level of involvement has pushed me to grow and expand my abilities and boundaries.
During the Summer 2012, I interned for REI Drilling in Salt Lake City, Utah, assisting with IT support and website content design and maintenance. I also work for Wildcreek Business Services in Sparks, Nevada as an office worker.
My goal in life is to give back to the community professionally and personally. I want to help businesses be able to be self-sustaining with the right IT equipment. I also want to involve myself in the community and help them by being a part of the community and giving anything that I can to the community. This could be simple recipes, reviews, DIY ideas, and, of course, community service.
“Well, you know, I was a human being before I became a businessman.”
